Let's Get Messy - Sensory Experiences in Early Childhood

Learning through sensory play is essential part of early education. This self guided course will explore some basic sensory experiences while also exploring different sensory experiences in an early childhood classroom.

This workshop should take approximately 2 hours to complete.  Once enrolled in this workshop, you will have 2 weeks to complete all course content and submit your evaluation. Once completed, a training certificate will be issued.

    • Explain the meaning and benefits of sensory play
    • Construct various sensory activities to support children’s development
    • Design a packet for families to encourage sensory play at home

Course Outcome

This course is intended to  help educators understanding of sensory play. Sensory play is an essential part of development. We have been forced to rethink some of the typical sensory play options that we use in our classrooms and family childcare settings. This fun and reflective course will help educators to think creatively about sensory play.
